East Syracuse Crash After Road Rage Incident Results In DWI charge

Village of East Syracuse, N.Y. - We're learning more about a crash East Syracuse Tuesday morning..

The Town of Dewitt police say the incident began after a gray sedan, driven by 28 year old Anthony Wright of Syracuse, rear ended a white sedan operated by 68 year old Richard Shepard of Minoa. The two had words and then, Wright left the scene with Shepard in pursuit.

During the chase Wright failed to stop at a stop sign and slammed into an black SUV on Hartwell Avenue pushing it into a house. The house suffered structural damage according to police.

The SUV driver was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. Wright was also hospitalized and is charged Felony DWI, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 1st (Felony), Reckless Driving, Operating without an Ignition Interlock Device, Open Container and multiple Vehicle and Traffic moving violations.

Shepard was charged with Reckless Driving.
