Bomb Threat At Cornell University Ruled Not Credible By Police

Ithaca, N.Y. - The Ithaca campus of Cornell University has been reopened after a bomb threat is ruled not credible by police.

Officials say someone called 911 yesterday and claimed to be in one of the academic buildings with automatic weapons and said that explosives had been placed in several buildings. People were told to evacuate the central campus while police searched for signs of the person or explosives but nothing dangerous was found.

The threat against Cornell was one of several that were received by schools yesterday, including Columbia and Brown universities. Threats against those schools were also unfounded.
