Albany, N.Y. - The spread of coronavirus continues to worsen across Central New York and new data from the state shows it's increasing each week.
Right now, the seven-day average COVID-19 positivity rate in the area is sitting at four-point-four percent which is the second-highest of any region in New York State. Last week, the infection rate was three-point-eight percent and two weeks ago it was at two-point-six percent.
Experts say the best way to protect yourself from getting sick is by wearing a mask and being vaccinated against coronavirus.
