A new contract between the city of Syracuse and the Syracuse Police Department has been approved.
The agreement would require new officers to live in the city, and would provide higher-ranking officers with pay raises. Mayor Ben Walsh says with so many officers either leaving or retiring from the force, the contract would incentivize new officers to stay in Syracuse.
