Teachers and parents in the Syracuse City School District are calling for leaders to invest money in boosting mental health care.
Results of a recent survey asking parents how the district should spend federal stimulus money showed that 43% of people believe mental health issues need to be addressed. Other suggestions on how the money should be used include upgrades to technology, improving air quality and professional development.
