Albany, N.Y. - Soon gun manufacturers and dealers whose weapons wind up in the wrongs hands could be sued.
A bill that would allow lawsuits against gun manufacturers and dealers whose weapons wind up being used in criminal acts, is heading to Gov Cuomo's desk for signing. The assembly passed the bill after the Senate did last week.
Federal law gives the gun industry unique protection against lawsuits but it does contain an exception that says states can pass a law to reinstate some liability.
