Sheriffs And Syracuse Police Save Troubled Teen

Syracuse, N.Y. - Cool heads and quick thinking may have saved the life of a Syracuse teen.

Onondaga Sheriffs along with Syracuse Police responded to the 200 block of Clarence Avenue Monday night for a verbal domestic involving a mother and her 14-year-old son

The 14-year-old grabbed a kitchen knife and fled threatening suicide.

Officers found the teen and began talking to him trying to calm the teen down. After a while, the teen approached the police with the knife making threatening comments. A deputy fired a less-lethal bean bag round and officers were able to take the teen into custody.

The teen suffered minor injuries and was taken to the hospital.
