Syracuse, N.Y. - Syracuse Police making a routine traffic stop ultimately wound up taking a GHOST gun off the street and arrested a police reform advocate.
The stop happened in the 2300 block of Midland Ave. The car was occupied by three men. During the investigation, the officers observed evidence of drugs inside of the vehicle.
When they searched the vehicle they found the 9mm semi-automatic handgun. Rakiem Spears, Travis Balaam, Najour Wright all face felony weapons charges. Wright was also charged with a drug charge.
During the whole situation, a police reform advocate, Kayla Johnson live-streamed the police at work and challenged them to explain what they were doing and why.
Johnson who looking to get a seat on the Common Council was arrested and charged with Obstruction of Governmental Administration for her actions interfering with the Officers during the stop.
