Incoming Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer says that the Biden administration is showing interest in Syracuse's I-81 project.
Schumer said in a meeting with incoming Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg that the $2 billion project is a top priority for NYS. The proposed project would tear down an elevated portion of 81 that runs through downtown Syracuse, and replace it with a street-level community grid.
