Incumbent Democratic State Senator Rachel May is declaring victory over Republican challenger Sam Rodgers in the 53rd State Senate District. As of last night, May leads by over 11,000 votes, with about 5,000 left to be counted.
In the 24th Congressional District, incumbent Republican Congressman John Katko still holds a firm lead over Democrat Dana Balter. Katko currently has roughly 44000 more votes than Balter, with 31,000 left to be counted.
