Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, a holiday tradition won't be happening in Syracuse this year.
City officials have decided to cancel the Christmas tree lighting ceremony in Clinton Square. A tree will still be lit in Clinton Square, but that event may end up being live-streamed. The annual gathering brings thousands of people to the downtown area each November.
