Local leaders are criticizing Syracuse University students following a large gathering on the school's quad.
Video and photos showed the students, believed to be mostly freshmen, violating rules put in place to prevent a spike in coronavirus cases. County Executive Ryan McMahon said that the students involved had the wrong mindset to be attending SU.
SU says it has already put 23 students on interim suspension.
