Two Syracuse Police Officers Assaulted During Arrest

Syracuse, N.Y. - Two Syracuse police offficers were injured this moring while making an arrest.

Officers Jason Caceres and Daniel Fahey responded to a call at the Blue Start Gas Station around 7:30. Its alledged that 46 year old Michael Kellam had just assaulted a 31 year old man.

As the officers attempted to arrest Kellam he became violent and head butted both officers. He was finally brought under control , handcuffed and taken to jail.

Kellam faces charges of Assault in the Third Degree for the original victim, two counts of Assault in the Second Degree for injuries caused to the Officrs, Criminal Mischief in the Fourth Degree, and Resisting Arres

Both Officers were transported to a hospital for treatment. One having a laceration to the head and the other for bruising to the head.
