Syracuse, N.Y. - The Diocese of Syracuse is filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. 32 lawsuits were filed against them on Wednesday accusing former clergy members opf sexually abusing children. Since 2019 around 100 lawsuits have been filed against the diocese for abuse. As part of the bankruptcy process a claims bar date will be set, which will be the deadline for survivors to file a claim or risk losing their legal rights forever.
