A second day of protests in the city of Syracuse ended peacefully.
Demonstrations across the country are being held to protest the death of George Floyd, an unarmed black man who died in police custody.
After instituting an 8pm curfew earlier in the weekend, Syracuse Mayor Ben Walsh said the last of the protestors had dispersed at about 10pm. No injuries or riots were reported on Sunday- a stark contrast to the rioting that transpired during Saturday's demonstrations. May 30th saw at least 7 arrests and multiple lootings at downtown businesses after hours of peaceful protesting.
The violence prompted Onondaga County officials to issue a state of emergency and a curfew from 8 pm until 7 am- with exceptions to those travelling to and from work. The curfew is set to last until at least Friday.
