NY State Private Sector Jobs Tank In April

Preliminary numbers show the number of private sector jobs in New York State tanked in April.

Those jobs decreased by more than 21 percent. It was the state’s largest monthly employment drop on record. Nearly a third of the jobs lost were in leisure and hospitality. The year-over-year private sector job loss for April in the Syracuse metro area was 22 percent, or 57-thousand jobs.
