6 More Deaths In Onondaga County, As The County Prepares To Re-Open

Syracuse, N.Y. - Onondaga County executive Ryan McMahon annoucing that 6 more people have died in the county in the past 24 hours.

They were a woman in her 70s, a man in his 50s, a man in his 60s, and a man in his 80s, all with underlying conditions. McMahon says there is no demographic data for the reported nursing home deaths.

McMahon alos announced that the county will be offering universal testing at the Syracuse Community Health Center for anyone who wants to get a diagnostic test, regardless of symptoms.

McMahon also reacted to news from the governor that Central New York has fallen short of the state's requirements for opening due to missing the benchmark on testing.

He also pushed back against what many believe, that the county is not going to be able to begin to reopen Friday. . McMahon said he believes there may be a delay in reporting the latest tests to the state, and promised that Onondaga County would be hitting the benchmark by Wednesday, and he willhave the numbers to prove it.
