UPDATE: The Syracuse Police officer stabbed in the neck Sunday night at the Crippen Apartments has been released from the Hospital.
Syracuse police officers say that 48-year-old Darrell Mobley was shot several times by the officer that he stabbed. Mobley has since died from his injuries.
As per department policy, the officer has been placed on paid administrative leave as he continues to recover from being stabbed. An investigation will be conducted by the Onondaga County District Attorney's office. The results will then be shared with a grand jury to determine if officers acted appropriately.

Syracuse, N.Y. - A Syracuse police officer is recovering after being stabbed in the neck.
Officers say that an erratic man was trying to break a door down at the Crippen Apartments off of Salina Street around 5:30 p.m. last night.
When officers arrived, they encountered him armed with a knife. The man then stabbed an officer, before the officer shot him.
The man was struck three times and is in critical condition. The injured officer is said to be alert and talking.
