Former Syracuse Chief Of Police's Son Pleads Guilty

Syracuse, N.Y. - The son of Syracuse’s former police chief will head to state prison for the first time in April after pleading guilty to illegal gun possession last week

Frank Fowler Jr., 28, will spend the legal minimum of five years in prison after pleading guilty to criminal possession of a weapon. Because he’s already a convicted felon, five years was the lowest sentence he could get.

Fowler Jr. had faced up to 15 years in prison, if convicted after trial.

Fowler Jr. was arrested, along with four others, in November during a traffic stop Court Street, at its intersection with New Court Avenue, in Salina. An illegal gun was found in the car.
