DeWitt, N.Y. - The owners of ShoppingTown Mall in DeWitt are continuing to repay millions of dollars in back taxes.
Onondaga County Executive Ryan McMahon says Moonbeam LLC recently sent in a check for $106,000. A federal bankruptcy judge in December ordered the mall to start making $25,000 monthly payments toward their tax debt and be current on their taxes.
This is now the fourth tax check in two months from the mall. So far, they have made two payments toward the debt and paid the current year’s school taxes and now county and town taxes.
McMahon says the county will continue to pressure Moonbeam to pay its full debt as soon as possible.
