UPDATE / 8:42 a.m. - A person was hospitalized following a high-speed chase in Syracuse.
The chase ended in a crash. Syracuse Police officers say the driver hit a tree on Lodi Street not far from Stella's Diner around 4 this morning.
Police say the driver hit the tree at a high rate of speed and was seriously hurt and taken to the hospital after Syracuse firefighters were called in to extricate them
Police are not sharing why they were chasing the vehicle.

Syracuse, N.Y. - One person was rushed to the hospital Monday morning following a high speed chase in Syracuse.
The chase ended in a crash near Stella's Diner on North Salina Street and Lodi Street.
Police have not shared why they were chasing the SUV.
