Albany, N.Y. - The latest numbers from the State Department of Health shows the number of flu cases is on the rise.
Officials say there were 189 confirmed cases of the virus in New York during the week ending November 2nd. That's a 48-percent increase over the week before. Forty-four of the patients confirmed to have the flu also ended up in the hospital.
Doctors are urging everyone to get their flu shot as soon as possible.
