Clark Mills, N.Y. - Oneida County Sheriffs say Utica man fell to his death today (yesterday) in a construction accident.
33 year old Frankie Torchia, died after he fell off the roof of a 4 story building on Main St., in Clark Mills. Torchia had been hired to do construction work on the building and was at the site along with another worker. The two were in the process of setting a 30 foot piece of roofing metal on the roof when a gust of wind took the steel, knocking Torchia from the roof. Torchia was pronounced dead at the scene
OSHA and the New York State Department of Labor responded. Police say no safety equipment or harnesses were being utilized at the time of the accident.
