The Onondaga County Executive has released his proposed budget for next year:
County Executive Ryan McMahon announced that the 2020 budget would increase spending by less than 1%, and the county tax rate would actually decrease, from $5.04 to $5 flat per thousand dollars of assess value . . .
That $100K house will pay $500 in taxes.
McMahon also discussed several initiatives to improve kindergarten readiness and other child services. His proposition did not include any use of the county's fund balance, which is expected to total $6.6 million by the end of the year.
