State Police Name Those Involved In Shooting In Hastings

Hastings, N.Y. - State Police are sharing more about the Trooper involved shooting in the Town of Hastings:

Trooper Ryan Cooley was in southern Oswego County Tuesday morning tracking down a stolen vehicle. He found it, parked in 25-year-old Robert Teeter's driveway. Teeter was still in the driver's seat.

After talking with Teeter, Trooper Cooley tried to arrest him. Teeter fought the Trooper off and ran inside the house.

More Troopers arrived and entered the house. When they eventually found Teeter hiding in an upstairs bedroom, he pointed a BB Gun at Trooper Nathan Horner. Trooper Horner shot Teeter several times.

Teeter remains in serious condition at Upstate Hospital. Charges are pending against him.

Troopers also arrested two others following the incident. Joshua Kirkland was wanted on unrelated charges to the incident and was additionally charged after lying to police about who he was. Kimberly Lopes was arrested after lying to police and for getting between Troopers and Teeter allowing him to get the BB Gun and hide.
