Syracuse, N.Y. - 23-year-old Shaolin Moore was pulled over for loud music, and refused to get out of his car after being asked to, by the police. The video of him being removed from the car caused quite a stir.
Buckner says the officers were justified in using force on Moore because he kept escalating the situation by refusing lawful orders and physically resisting a lawful arrest.
Buckner used slides, and videos to walk through the department’s internal investigation into the incident.
Chief Buckner did say however the officers violate the department's policy on professionalism, with the language and their demeanor, and they will be disciplined for that.
Mayor Ben Walsh said he agrees with the findings. Walsh also announced a public forum on use of force to be held June 28th.
