Syracuse, N.Y. - There's a new development involving former Theta Tau members and Syracuse University:
Five former Theta Tau brothers who were kicked out of school have voluntarily dropped out of a lawsuit against the institution. Why they gave up isn't known.
The Theta Tau controversy began after footage surfaced showing pledges taking part in skits that University Officials called racist, anti-Semitic and homophobic.
This leaves just four students to pursue the federal suit. The students claimed SU ignored their rights to a fair process, smeared them in statements to the media, and breached a contract by kicking them out of school.
