Syracuse, N.Y. - A 15-year-old boy will spend 10 years to life behind bars.
Knowledge Powell admitted to the shooting of 15 year Akil Williams in July of last year. Powell fired multiple times into the back of Williams and as he laid on the ground fired again into William's face.
The district attorney said during sentencing that Powell would have shot more times, but he ran out of bullets.
Powell did apologize to the family in court.
Powell will spend his first few years of his sentence in a secure facility run by the state Office of Children and Family Services. When he becomes an adult, he'll move to prison.
