Salina, N.Y. - Onondaga County deputies have identified the suspicious object found at a Salina gas station.
Officers shut down the roads and evacuated businesses near the Pilot Truck Stop on Seventh North Street yesterday afternoon. Someone called 911 to report that a package had been left near the gas pump.
Investigators say it turned out to be an empty plastic tube. Police say a man left the tube behind because he couldn't fit it into a trash can.
