New Evidence The Reason Accused 12-Year-Old's Killer Released From Jail

Syracuse Police are explaining why a man they say killed a 12-year-old boy on the City's Northside walked free out of the Justice Center this morning.

Syracuse, N.Y. - The man accused of gunning down a 12-year-old on Syracuse's Northside is out from behind bars.

Court documents are revealing that 22-year-old Alberto Pinet fired his gun ten times on the night he's accused of shooting and killing James Springer III. Springer's stepmother was also injured but survived.

Police believe Pinet was trying to shoot someone else, but hit the victims instead.

He's been charged with murder, and his case is going to a grand jury. In the meantime, Pinet has been released from the Justice Center.
