Gov Cuomo Sends Troopers Into Syracuse City Streets To Help With Crime

Syracuse, N.Y. -  Governor Andrew Cuomo has called out the Troopers.

In an order to help combat violence in the city of Syracuse the Governor has made arrangements to have State Police patrol city streets due to the increase of gun violence.

Additionally, the New York State Department of Corrections will direct Parole Officers to monitor parolees for recent gang involvement, impose special conditions to restrict access to high-crime areas, conduct home visits and curfew checks as well as offer community-based services for recently-released individuals as an alternative to gang recruitment.

Finally, the Department will assign an additional Office of Special Investigations Investigator to help SPD's Gang Violence Task Force.
