Cuomo Orders Flags At Half-Staff To Honor Senator McCain

New York - New York Governor Andrew Cuomo is ordering flags lowered to half-staff at state government buildings in honor of Senator John McCain.

"John McCain gave his life in service to this nation, exemplifying all that we admire in a hero. He was a warrior and a statesman, in the old-fashioned sense.  In his own way, he spoke truth to power. He criticized Republicans and Democrats alike. John McCain criticized all of us. Because in his mind, those of us who are privileged to hold public office can never work hard enough for the people of this country. He was right."

Schumer Wants Senate Building Named After McCain

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer wants the Senate's oldest office building to be named after the late Senator John McCain.

The late Navy airman and long-time Arizona Senator, who died Saturday night at 81 following a battle with brain cancer.
