Jamesville Beach Closured Due To Algae Concerns

Jamesville, N.Y. - Jamesville Beach is closed until further notice after an algae bloom was found in the water.

The Onondaga County Health Department says swimmers won't be allowed in the water until test results show it's safe.

Beaches In Onondaga County Given All Clear And Are Reopened

The Onondaga County Health Department has announced that the Clift Park and Skaneateles Country Club beaches located in the Town of Skaneateles are open again for swimming.

Last week, two beaches on Skaneateles Lake closed for a time due to similar concerns about harmful algal blooms.

Exposure to algal bloom bacteria can be harmful to people and their pets. Some symptoms include nausea, skin irritation or breathing problems.
