Cayuga County Sheriff's have released the name of the woman who was killed yesterday afternoon.
Around 2:05 Sheriff's were dispatched to NYS route 370 near Bradt Road in the Town of Ira regarding a motor vehicle accident. Carol Mastowski, 71, of Lasher Road was driving a 2006 Volkswagon Jetta Westbound on Route 370 when she left the the road and struck a tree.
Mastowski was the only person in the car and there is no indication that any other vehicle was involved in the accident.
Mastowski was transported by Mercy Flight Helicopter to University Hospital where she was pronounced dead several hours later.
The investigation continues.
