Syracuse Firefighter Involved In Fatal Hit-N-Run Goes Back To His Job

Syracuse, N.Y. - Syracuse Firefighter, Ted Ackerman who was initially charged following the hit-and-run crash that killed Seth Collier, has been on suspension without pay

Today the Syracuse Firefighters Association announced he will return to his job. The SFA stated they have reviewed the incident but that any other serious misconduct will lead to his termination.

Ackerman was accused of tampering with evidence for unplugging a video recording device at a club he was a member of, that may had contained evidence that could have been used against Peter Rauch. Rauch is the former Onondaga County District Attorney's Office investigator who was driving the car that struck and killed 18-year-old Collier. Rauch was sentenced to 2 to 6 years in prison in November.
