Onondaga County Sheriff’s responded to an accident that occurred yesterday afternoon on Oneida Lake in Cicero,involving two Jet Skis.
Deputies investigating the accident report that the two Jet Skis had been traveling side by side, when one of the personal watercrafts drifted into the path of the other. The impact from the collision caused damage to both Jet Skis and seriously injured one operator and his passenger.
Deputies say 24 year old Jacob Bottino of Clay and his passenger, 24 year old Morgan Samora of Liverpool, sustained serious injuries and were transported to Upstate University Hospital where they are currently listed in stable condition.
The operator of the other Jet Ski, 26 year old Sydney DeJohn of Liverpool was not injured.
Deputies indicate that rough waters and driver inattention appeared to be contributing factors in the accident however, the accident remains under investigation.
