Afternoon Shots Fired And Stabbing At City Park

Syracuse, N.Y. – On Tuesday July 17th, 2018 at approximately 4:25 PM, Syracuse Police Officers responded to 351 W. Newell Street, McKinley Park, in regards to a shots fired call.  Upon arrival, Officers were advised that a black male wearing a white T-shirt and blue jeans, had fired shots in the area.  While Officers were investigating, they located two spent shell casings.  The suspect reportedly ran eastbound towards Primrose Ave.

A short time later, Officers were advised that a 22 year old male had arrived at Upstate University Hospital seeking treatment for a stab wound to his hand.  At this time, it appears that this male was injured at some point during this incident.  The victim has been uncooperative with Detectives, so there is no suspect information available.  The victim’s injury is not life threatening.
