On Friday, June 22, 2018, at approximately 7:06pm, Syracuse Police Officers responded to a robbery investigation that occurred in the area of S. Geddes Street and Merriman Ave. The victim reported he was physically attacked by two suspects while he had his two year old son with him. The victim knew the suspects to be Isiah Gaston, 22 and Jamel Felton, 27, both of Syracuse. The victim told police that Gaston punched him in the face, causing him to fall to the ground. While on the ground, both males continued to punch him. Felton then went through the victims pockets and took his cell phone and a $100 bill. The victim sustained jaw pain as a result of the incident. The victim’s two year old child was not physically injured.
Syracuse Police Officer Christopher Gaj located the suspects near the intersection of Barrett Street and Davis Street. They were taken into custody without incident. At the time of arrest, Gaston was found to be in possession of the victim’s cell phone.
Gaston and Felton were arrested and charged with Robbery in the Second Degree and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. They were lodged at the Onondaga County Justice Center pending their arraignments.
