New York - Former Democratic Syracuse Mayor Stephanie Miner is going to make a run for Governor -- as an Independent.
Miner will have to get petition signatures to get on the November ballot as the candidate of the fledgling Serve America Movement. She tells The New York Times she is running to challenge what she says is "a corrupt political culture that is hurting real people every day.”
Her entry sets up a potential 4-way race in November, with Democratic incumbent Andrew Cuomo, Republican Marc Molinaro, and Working Families Party candidate Cynthia Nixon.
