ICE Gets Involved In Sodus Case As Search For Toddler Continues

Sodus, N.Y. - Alberto Ebavardo Gutierrez-Reyes is due in a Wayne County courtroom Tuesday morning to answer charges he tampered with evidence.

He's admitted that he buried the body of 18-year-old Selena Hidalgo-Calderon on a farm in Sodus. Meantime the search continues for her missing 14-month old son Own. Wayne County Sheriff Barry Virts says they don't expect to find the boy alive but are committed to finding him. An Amber Alert for Owen remains in effect.

An AMBER Alert has been issued for a missing boy Friday morning after his mother was found dead in a wooded area in Sodus Wednesday morning. 18-year-old Selena Hidalgo-Calderon was found in the woods Wednesday morning near her home on Joy Road in Sodus. Her 14-month-old son Owen is still missing

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement say that Gutierrez-Reyes was deported twice and have formally asked for him to be turned over to their custody.
