Sheldon Silver's Defense Attorney: Being Distasteful Isn't A Crime

Albany, N.Y. - Former state Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver's attorneys are arguing that being distasteful isn't a crime. 

Opening statements were made, yesterday, in the Democrat's corruption retrial.  Silver was convicted of a bribery scheme in 2015 -- but the verdict was later tossed by a judge after the Supreme Court narrowed the legal definition of public corruption.  

The retrial of the disgraced former speaker continues today.
