Syracuse, N.Y. – After having the least productive first half of the season, the Orange rallied back to upset the Virginia Cavaliers 66-62.
The win officially moved Head Coach Jim Boeheim's career coaching total to 899 but the 27,553 fans were there to witness history.

Despite an NCAA sanction that robbed him of 101 wins, it was Coach Boeheim’s 1,000 win as a head coach.
At the half, the prognosis was grim. The Orange had only posted 22-points; the lowest of any first half this season. However, Tyus Battle and Andrew White III set a blistering pace in the second half each scoring 23 points in the unofficial milestone game.
The upset secures SU’s position as a bubble contender for the NCAA Tournament. It is the second upset of a ranked opponent in the last week and the fourth-straight win for the Orange.
The Orange hope to extend the winning streak to five games Tuesday night on the road at Clemson.
