Travel Advisories And Blizzard Warnings In Place In CNY

A high wind warning is in effect for most of Central New York until 7:00 p.m. Monday. Oswego, Jefferson, and Lewis counties are dealing with a Blizzard warning until 4:00 p.m. Monday.

The National Weather Service says winds could gust up to 65 miles an hour throughout the day. The strongest winds are expected to continue through this afternoon, which means travel could be difficult.

This same storm is responsible for extensive damage and power outages in parts of Western New York.

Wind and snow have led to some travel advisories being issued. Officials in Oswego, Jefferson, Cayuga, and Oneida Counties are urging folks to stay off the roads.

If you have to travel, make sure you drive slowly, give yourself plenty of time to get where you're going and call 911 if you see any accidents or storm damage. The travel advisories will be in effect until conditions improve.
