Syracuse, N.Y. - It could be a long and messy morning commute today as snow and ice return to Central New York.
The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory that will remain in place until 1:00 p.m. Thursday. Forecasters say expect a half-foot of snow to fall before lunchtime. A good bit of snow fell overnight.
Temperatures will rise later today. That may cause some areas to deal with bouts of rain before more wintry weather returns tonight.
Friday and Saturday will see bouts of snow. Snow from Late Thursday will linger for part of tomorrow morning. On-and-off snow showers will continue into Saturday. The snowfall storm total is expected to be 4-8 inches.
