CNY Approaching New Phase In COVID-19 Vaccination Distribution

Syracuse, N.Y. - The next phase of the vaccine rollout is expected to begin this week.

Officials in Onondaga County say that a new shipment of COVID-19 vaccines is due on Tuesday, and that individuals that qualify in Phase 1B may start receiving their shots as early as Wednesday. Phase 1B includes people over the age of 75, law enforcement, public transit workers, and teachers K-12. With the combination of phase 1A and 1B, there are now about 100,000 people in the county that are eligible for a vaccination.

The state is launching a new vaccine website to help people make reservations and get location information. It is available now for those in Group 1B to begin making their reservations. People who make a reservation will be directed to a nearby pharmacy for their vaccination.
