Syracuse, N.Y. - More layoffs and furloughs are coming to CNY's important healthcare industry.
ACR Health is announcing 70 staff furloughs after New York State has been unable to reimburse the company for several $1.6 million in contracted work since January. ACR Health officials say that 88 percent of their budget is dependent on contracts with the State.
The remaining staff will help maintain programs and services with limited operations including HIV, HepC and STD testing, syringe exchange and the on-site Medical Clinic, Health Home Care Management, medical support programs, insurance enrollment navigation and youth and family services.
Earlier this week, St. Joseph's Health announced they were layoff staff and closing their urgent care facilities in Liverpool and Fayetteville.
