Who is the Last Jedi?!?!

That humming you heard was the collective hmmmmm of every Star Wars fan contemplating the meaning behind the title of the latest Star Wars film.

Disney announced that the title for the next chapter in the Skywalker saga will be “Star Wars: Episode VIII The Last Jedi” The next installment of the final Star Wars’ Trilogy (at least so we’re told) will be released Dec. 15.

Speculation over just who the last Jedi is, is running rampant on social media.

Yoda, while on his death bed in "Return to the Jedi," told Luke that “when gone have I, the last of the Jedi, you will be.” So, it’s Luke.

“The Force Awakens” chronicled Daisy Ridley's Rey discovering her powers with the Force, but ended ominously with a withdrawn Luke Skywalker on a remote island. If there's to be just one Jedi left, Luke's days could be numbered.

Writer-director Rian Johnson has previously said “Episode VIII” will start right where "The Force Awakens" left off.
