Marble Farms, a cherished ice cream shop in Geddes, New York, is set to be demolished, marking the end of an era for the community. Opened in the late 1970s, Marble Farms became more than just a place for sweet treats; it was a hub for friendships and memories. Beverly Peterson, who worked there as a teenager, recalled how the shop shaped her young adulthood and connected her with lifelong friends. "We had a lot of fun, met a lot of great people," Peterson shared.

The shop was renowned for its ice cream, milk, and unique marbles handed out as "business cards" by Mr. Marble himself. The current owners, Marble Farms Produce, announced the impending demolition, prompting many to share their fond memories of the establishment. Sheena Gaspaini, the daughter of the current owner, expressed a desire to preserve the shop's history for future projects. "We’re salvaging as much as we can, all the nostalgic stuff," she said.

While the building will be demolished, Marble Farms Produce will continue its seasonal operations, closing at the end of October for pumpkin season and reopening shortly after to sell Christmas trees.
