In Syracuse, a suspected stolen vehicle crashed into a car carrying a two-year-old child and a pregnant woman early Thursday morning (July 3). According to Onondaga County Sheriff's Deputies, Syracuse Police Officers first spotted the stolen vehicle within city limits and pursued it briefly before it crashed back in the city.
The stolen vehicle, driven by three juveniles, collided with a bystander vehicle occupied by a man, a pregnant woman, and a two-year-old child. The impact pushed the bystander vehicle into a utility pole, which then damaged another pole. Fortunately, the two adults in the bystander vehicle sustained only minor injuries, while the child was taken to the hospital as a precaution.
According to CNY Central, the juveniles fled the scene but were quickly apprehended by deputies. They were transported to the hospital as a precaution and were found to be uninjured. The juveniles received appearance tickets for Onondaga County Family Court and were released to their parents or guardians.
