The Vera House has announced details for its 31st annual White Ribbon Campaign, which aims to raise awareness about gender-based violence and fund prevention education programs. The campaign will kick off with a breakfast on Wednesday (April 2) at the Marriott in Downtown Syracuse, starting at 8:30 a.m. Later in the month, the White Ribbon Campaign Walk will take place on Friday (April 25) at Clinton Square in Syracuse.
This year, Onondaga County District Attorney Bill Fitzpatrick will serve as the honorary chair of the campaign. Participants can register for the breakfast or the walk and make donations through the Vera House's official website.
The White Ribbon Campaign is recognized as the world's largest movement of men and boys working to end violence against women and girls. It promotes gender equity, healthy relationships, and a new vision of masculinity. According to CNY Central, the campaign has been instrumental in raising both awareness and funds, with past campaigns generating significant community support and financial contributions.
